Healthy Active Living, Grade 10, Open (PPL2O)This course enables students to further develop the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy choices now and lead healthy, active lives in the future. Through participation in a wide range of physical activities, students develop knowledge and skills related to movement competence and personal fitness that provide a foundation for active living. The school year comes to a close with our Graduation Ceremony where we come together to acknowledge the academic achievements over the past year. What to expect at your ceremony? Register for you and family/friends Arrive 30 minutes early at the venue to pick up your gown and hat Picture/photo time with friends, teachers and family Find your seat and please remain in that seat until the end of the ceremony The ceremony will take about 90 minutes. MIA's Annual Science Fair creates opportunities for MIA students to have fun exploring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Our winning projects are chosen to compete in the Toronto-wide Science Fair (TSF) orgranized by the University of Toronto every year.
The talents of MIA’s students are displayed each year at MIA’s Art Show. This day is a collaborative effort between Visual Arts, Drama, Dance, Communications Technology, and Fashion classes as well as Music Club, Dance Club, and Craft Club.
Many cultures across Asia celebrate the Lunar New Year and every year we bring these celebrations to MIA. For lunch, students enjoy a spectacular feast of different traditional New Year foods across Asia. A red pocket is given to each student with varying amounts of gift money. You never know who will be the big winner!
The Euclid Mathematics Contest is an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability. Audience Students in their final year of secondary school or CÉGEP students and motivated students in lower grades. Date Written in April. See details for current year.
